Cycling from London to Beijing. Well this challenge of cycling from Trafalgar Square to Tiananmen Square is easier said than done.
"This isn't a walk in the park. Cycling hour upon hour on my saddle, nights in my sleeping bag and carrying all I need on my bike is surely going to test my resilience. I hope the inevitable saddle sores are not too painful”
"My cycling solo adventure will be taking me from London across the channel, into France and then cycling through Western and Eastern Europe. I will cycle down to Turkey where I retrace the Ancient Silk Road through Iran and Central Asia. My solo cycle will take me across China to the eastern city of Beijing. I want to be in Beijing before the closing ceremony of the Olympics on 24th August 2008".
Quote for the day
" Even among the athletes who were in Beijing, Miheer can hold his head high."
Boris Johnson, Mayor of London as in London Evening Standard 26 Aug 2008
" China has a real party atmosphere, all the people want to be the best hosts. I was helped by a policeman who found me at the roadside covered by bee stings as a swarm decided I was a good target. Was taken to a local hospital and really looked after. I have 4 days to get to Beijing to be in time for the closing ceremony
.................so near yet so far .............. Miheer Dodhia Monday 18th Aug 2008

Finishing in Beijing
"It will involve cycling through the ancient city of Samarkand in Uzbekistan through the mountains of Kyrgyzstan into the Taklimakan desert of China".
"On top of this, I will be using buses and trains to make sure that I can get through some central Asian countries before my visas run out and get back home in time to start university in autumn 2008".
Miheer will cycle at least 8,000 kms. The total distance would be well over 12,000 kms. Maybe Miheer is the youngest Vegetarian to take on such an arduous challenge
